Should Men (or me) Be Wearing Makeup?

I am interested in possibly exploring the realm of men's makeup. I'm a stage actor, so I know a bit about makeup, and appliance, but not much for practical use. What do you think about guys wearing makeup? What "regimen" would you recommend for a guy? And by the way, I'm not afraid of being called gay or anything like that. I deal with it all the time already, and it doesn't bother me. Thanks!
